THE WRAP.
Searching for inspiration for her next novel, Sylvie begins spying on the neighbours across the street, turning glimpses of their lives into a story of her own. When she hires young Adam to help with her daily routine, his arrival disrupts both her secluded existence and her writing. As he becomes entangled in the world she has imagined, fiction starts to spill into reality, drawing everyone into an increasingly unpredictable web.
Parallel Tales (Histoires parallèles) is an intriguing psychological drama exploring desire, voyeurism and the unsettling power of storytelling. Directed by Asghar Farhadi, the two-time Oscar-winning filmmaker behind A Separation and The Salesman, it brings together Isabelle Huppert, Virginie Efira, Vincent Cassel, Pierre Niney and Adam Bessa. Selected In Competition at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, this Paris-set story invites audiences to question what they see, what they imagine and how easily one can transform the other.
