Part of the prestigious vOilah! 2026 French Singapore festival, this performance celebrates French creativity through the universal language of dance. Set in the intimate Alliance Française Theatre, this showcase marks the festival debut for the Singapore Ballet, offering a rare opportunity to witness world-class choreography in a unique cultural setting.
The evening features an exquisite blend of new creations and beloved repertoire pieces, including a premiere by renowned French choreographer Claire Voss. Audiences will be treated to breathtaking excerpts from Choo San Goh’s Configurations and Janek Schergen’s Cinderella, alongside the return of Étienne Ferrère’s Singular. About Claire Voss
Claire Voss is a French-born ballerina and choreographer with over 18 years of experience in leading companies including Dortmund Ballet, Zurich Ballet, Finnish National Ballet, and West Australian Ballet. She has performed major roles such as the Sugar Plum Fairy (The Nutcracker), the Sylph (La Sylphide), and Myrtha (Giselle).
Shaped by collaborations with renowned choreographers, she has developed a distinctive neo-classical style blending classical technique with contemporary themes. Her first major work, Simplicity (2018), toured internationally. She has since created works presented at venues including the Sydney Opera House, continuing to explore meaningful, innovative ballet.
She will present her piece Après un rêve for its world premiere.
About Etienne Ferrère
Etienne Ferrère began his training in Oyonnax, France, before entering the Paris Opera Ballet School, where he performed works by leading choreographers and toured internationally. He joined the Paris Opera Ballet in 2009, then Singapore Ballet in 2010, rising to Principal in 2018. His repertoire includes leading roles such as Romeo and Prince Florimund.
Alongside his performing career, Etienne has developed a choreographic practice, creating several works since 2021 and designing their costumes. Also active as an aerial circus artist, he contributes to performance and production projects. Now based in Hong Kong, he works as a freelance dancer, choreographer, and teacher.
He will present his piece Singular.
