In 1941, the world is radically different from the one we know from history books. Geopolitics has developed strangely: Napoleon V rules France and, for the last 70 years, scholars have been mysteriously disappearing, depriving mankind of their inventions. Avril, a teenage girl, goes in search of her missing scientist parents, in the company of Darwin, a talking cat, and Julius, a young street rascal.

Awarded with a César Awards and at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, the drawings of Jacques Tardi offer us here a rich, funny and intelligent tribute to comics. Full of twists and humour, the story brings us into an exciting mechanical fantasy where the world is nothing like we know it !
