Gaël Davrinche

Gaël Davrinche is a French artist born in Saint-Mandé in 1971. A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Davrinche primarily expresses his artistic vision through painting; he also uses sculpture to explore his ideas in three-dimensional form. Through his decisive painting style, Gaël Davrinche examines the historical and social significance of portraiture, the reality and the imaginary. His works often take on a surreal quality, destabilising viewers with the ubiquity of the object. They serve as an inquiry into his individual role, his attitude, and his relationships with the world and others. 

From revisiting iconic works by great masters, sometimes in an impudent way, such as his playful interpretation of La Joconde, to creating hyper-realistic portraits, Davrinche explores a wide range of artistic expressions. His refined technique is impressively conveyed through his paintings, drawings, and pastels of his portraits and still-life compositions.

Gaël Davrinche’s artworks have been exhibited in galleries around the world and are part of several prestigious collections, including the Fondation Colas, Musée Ingres, Musée des Beaux-Arts de Chambéry, FRAC Haute-Normandie, and Fondation Salomon pour l’Art Contemporain.

Quentin Garel

Quentin Garel is an internationally acclaimed French sculptor and draughtsman, best known for his striking bronze animal sculptures that evoke the texture and presence of wood. Each work begins as an intricate charcoal drawing, which he then translates into a carved wooden form before casting it in bronze. The result is a luminous, tactile surface that balances realism with transformation. His animal figures often take on the form of masks, distilling the essence of the creature rather than depicting it in full, and inviting a more symbolic, almost totemic reading.

Following the widely acclaimed exhibition The Bone Magician at the National Museum of Natural History in 2016, and its presentation at the Palazzo Tiepolo Passi during the Venice Biennale in 2017, Garel was honoured with major retrospectives at the Matmut Contemporary Art Center in 2019 and the Domaine de Chamarande in 2020. He has completed numerous public commissions, and his work is held in major collections such as the Regional Centre of Knowledge in Rouen and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Verona, Among his distinctions are the Drawing Prize from the Academy of Fine Arts, Paris (2003) and the Sculpture Award from Salon de Mai, Paris (2004), among others.

Mehdi-Georges Lahlou

Mehdi-Georges Lahlou is a French and Moroccan visual artist, performance artist and theatre director. He lives and works between Paris, Brussels and Casablanca. He trained at the École supérieure des beaux-arts de Nantes Saint-Nazaire and obtained a PhD in Art in the Netherlands in 2010. In 2014, he took part in the first edition of Les Réalisateurs, a postgraduate programme in Art and Business conceived and directed by artist Fabrice Hyber, in partnership with Audencia Business School and ESBANM. From 2017 to 2020, Mehdi-Georges Lahlou was an associate artist at CDN Normandie–Rouen. From 2019 to 2020, he was artist-in-residence at the Jan Van Eyck Academie in Maastricht, the Netherlands.

His work has been presented in numerous international exhibitions, including the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon, Portugal (2023); Mucem, Marseille, France (2022); Musée Bargoin, Clermont-Ferrand, France; the Museum of African Contemporary Art Al Maaden (MACAAL), Marrakech, Morocco (2019); the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Rome, Italy (2018); the William Benton Museum of Art, Storrs, USA (2017); and the Musée d’Art Moderne et Contemporain, Strasbourg, France (2016).

Julien Des Monstiers

Julien Des Monstiers studied at the renowned Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he trained under Jean-Michel Alberola. Julien plays around with colour, texture, concepts, and a forgotten artistic savoir faire, in the hopes of placing art in a place where it had once been. He pushes the boundaries between fine and applied art, and has radicalised his approach in recent years, focusing on the concept of tautology in painting.

Since 2016, his work has been represented by Galerie Christophe Gaillard (Paris, Brussels, Le Tremblay), which has presented six solo exhibitions of his work. He has exhibited widely in both institutional and private contexts, including MO.CO (2023), the Yvon Lambert Collection (2019), the Fondation Ricard (2015), and the Palais de Tokyo (2014), alongside residencies abroad. His accolades include the Marin Prize (2015), the Yishu 8 Prize (2017), the Pierre Cardin Prize (2019), and the Simone and Cino Del Duca Painting Prize (2022). In 2024, his work was the subject of major monographic exhibitions at the Château de Chambord and Le Suquet des Artistes, accompanied by a new publication by Martin de Halleux. 

Lionel Sabatté

Lionel Sabatté’s work revolves around the notion of the living, often paying tribute to its temporary state. From the residual materials he uses, he brings to life a bestiary made up of hybrid creatures such as unicorns made of concrete, fishes from the abyssal depths made from iron and coins, butterflies repaired with pieces of dead skin, wolves and swans in dust and, and human silhouettes derived from scraps of concrete. His sculptures hold forms of viscous concrete units resembling decaying and melting animal remains. His distinctive sculpting style allows for a form of spatial awareness with the search for representation in each piece.

Lionel Sabatté became known for La Meute, a work exhibited in 2011 at the Garden of plants in Paris. This work represents a pack of wolves made from dust. The dust, which is found in many of his sculptures and drawings, is not the only residual material that the artist uses. The 1 cent euro, the fragments of dead skin and nail clippings, the stem trees or burnt woods are just a few elements that constitute to his grotesque repertoire of materials. Graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, 2003, Sabatté’s works have been shown at the National Museum of Modern Art, Musée des Arts et Métiers and Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal in France. Lionel Sabatté is the Winner of the 2019 Foundation Del Duca Award, 2018 Patio Maison Rouge Award and 2017 Drawing Now Award.
