As he pedals through the streets of Paris to deliver meals, Souleymane repeats his story. In two days, he has to go through his asylum application interview, the key to obtaining papers, but Souleymane is not ready.
The film has received significant acclaim, notably at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize and Best Performance Prize for Sangaré. It also secured four César Awards, including Best Supporting Actress for Meurisse, Best Male Revelation for Sangaré, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Editing.
