On Mauritius Island in 1759, Massamba and his daughter Mati, slaves on Eugène Larcenet's plantation, hatch a daring plan to escape slavery, braving numerous obstacles in their pursuit of freedom.

Premiered at the 2024 Deauville American Film Festival, No Chains No Masters (Ni chaînes ni maîtres) brings together a powerful cast led by Benoît Magimel, acclaimed for his César-winning performances in Pacifiction and De son vivant, and Camille Cottin, known internationally for Call My Agent! and Stillwater. The film also features Ibrahima Mbaye in a compelling role. This ambitious debut by director Simon Moutaïrou has drawn attention for both its cinematic impact and its prestigious festival launch.

Founded in 2019, Cuturi Gallery is a contemporary art gallery based in Singapore with a strong focus on emerging Singaporean talents, many of whom form the core of the gallery ’s roster. While rooted in its local context, Cuturi Gallery also actively collaborates with emerging and established artists across borders, extending its vision beyond Southeast Asia and Asia-Pacific, fostering meaningful exchanges that bridge cultural perspectives between the East and the West. This ongoing dialogue is central to the gallery ’s mission.
In 2020, the gallery launched an in-house residency programme, offering both local and international artists the opportunity to develop new work in Singapore, culminating in a solo presentation. In 2022, Cuturi Gallery began a programme of satellite exhibitions in London, with plans to establish a permanent international outpost by the end of 2026.
In March of 2026, the gallery opened a Parisian space in the heart of the PalaisRoyal, strenghtening its international position and its ambition to foster dialogue between the Asian and European artists it represents, as well as curators and transnational audiences
