PREMIÈRE
As the war intensifies, Charles de Gaulle faces a new battle: securing France’s independence while overcoming divisions within his own camp and resistance from the Allied leaders. In North Africa, General Leclerc leads his men against formidable German forces, while in occupied France, Jean Moulin works to unite the underground Resistance. Their struggles converge on the road to Liberation, where the future of a free France hangs in the balance.
La Bataille de Gaulle – Part II: J’écris ton nom brings Antonin Baudry’s two-part historical epic to its stirring conclusion, combining battlefield action, political confrontations and the courage of those fighting in the shadows. Simon Abkarian returns as de Gaulle, alongside Niels Schneider as General Leclerc and Félix Kysyl as Jean Moulin, with Anamaria Vartolomei and Thierry Lhermitte completing the cast. Inspired by Julian Jackson’s biography of de Gaulle, this second chapter follows the struggle to unite a fractured nation and reclaim its freedom, culminating in the liberation of Paris.
This screening is following the first La Bataille de Gaulle movie at 05:00PM (De Gaulle I : Tilting Iron).
