Recital for children

On Saturday 25 January, Alliance Française de Singapour had the pleasure of hosting an enchanting opera performance in the theatre, as part of the French Excellence programme AMOURS.

An event that was thoughtfully designed to introduce younger audiences to the world of classical music, featuring some of the greatest names in the genre—Mozart, Rossini, Bizet—and their most famous pieces about love.

With over 200 attendees, this sold-out event was a resounding success, bringing together a vibrant crowd to celebrate the enchanting blend of opera and romance.

Meet Chloé de Laubier and Fleur Pont

To host this musical getaway, we had the privilege to welcome two incredibly talented artists, Fleur Pont and Chloé de Laubier, whose collaboration has been making waves in Singapore.

Fleur, a classical pianist with an international background, and Chloé, a soprano and vocal coach, first met in September 2023 and quickly formed the "Fleur & Chloé’s Ballads" series. Together, they combine their shared passion for classical music to create engaging performances aimed at bringing this timeless genre to a wider audience.

An interactive performance to make classical music accessible to children

With an engaging and interactive approach, they designed a performance that not only introduced children to renowned composers but also sparked their imagination and curiosity about the beauty of opera and its emotional depth.

By sharing fun facts about composers, story outlines, and cues for focused listening, they encouraged the entire audience to actively participate, creating a fresh and dynamic way to experience opera, both for parents and kids.
