About the performance
In the frame of its Open Day, Alliance Française de Singapour invites children from 5 years old to attend a multicultural, musical and interactive one-hour storytelling program in its theatre.
This storytelling session will be featuring two stories retold with a mixture of French and English, puppetry, and will be accompanied by a live professional musician on the Indian Classical flute.
The first story - The Black Prince of Egypt - is an Egyptian tale about unconditional love. A poor boy falls in love with the King's daughter and has nothing to woo her with except for his flute.
The Moutain that loved a Bird is a picture book by Alice McLerran about making a difference. A lonely, barren mountain befriends a songbird and is transformed.
This is a one-hour bilingual family program. Children aged 5 and older will be welcome on stage unaccompanied to interact with the story, and to plant their seeds on a 3D mountain.
Both stories will be narrated by renowned storytellers Alice Bianchi-Clark and Roger Jenkins, accompanied by composer and performer Raghavendran Rajasekaran on the Indian Classical Flute.
Our thanks to Marcia Quah for her help in painting our 3D mountain and bringing it to life.
