Fashion Artisan Week at Alliance Française de Singapour
During the first days of December, Alliance Française has been enlivened by glamourous events at the occasion of Fashion Artisan Week! We have been delighted to celebrate the diversity of French fashion: its chic and elegance as well as its extravagance and innovation, not forgetting the finesse of our talented artisans’ savoir-faire.
The week has been launched with the screening of Celebration, a good way to discover a new face of Yves Saint Laurent.
Then, our Fashion’s Night Out, co-presented with Lasalle College of the Arts, has been the occasion to discover the work of talented local designers Wai Yarn Ng, Sandy Ong, Rena Kok and Ng Jia Min. We also have been honored to meet the film director Yann l’Hénoret for a live Skype Q&A session about his movie Jean-Paul Gaultier: Freak & Chic.
Here are a few pictures of the fashion show. Many thanks to Studio Realizé for her wonderful drawings!
Last but not least: during the week-end, several of you had the chance to meet talented French fashion designer Stéphanie Coudert and tailor Benoît Aguelon and learn basic techniques from their expertise. We have been really impressed by the quality of the attendees’ drawings and handcraft skills!
