Cultural Programming & Events Manager

N+1: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Date: 6 January 2020 to 22 May 2020 (maternity leave replacement)

You are a team player, a passionate individual with the drive to organize high-quality and successful events.

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • To oversee the cultural programming in different fields at the theatre and at the gallery and to ensure smooth running of the cultural and social events.
  • To manage 2 interns (1 cultural assistant and 1 gallery and event assistant) and the hiring of the upcoming ones.

Job Description 

1/ To prepare and fully organise regular cultural and social events (cinema screenings, French Friday) and the whole Francophonie Festival in March, and to programme and prepare the French Animation Film Festival in May and the International Music Day in June, by:

  • developing and monitoring budgets
  • coordinating the relation with international, local, institutional, and private partners
  • coordinating logistics
  • implementing a communication strategy to promote these events in collaboration with the Communication Manager.

2/ To plan and organise exhibitions in the gallery, by:

  • developing and monitoring budgets
  • coordinating the relation with international, local, institutional, and private partners
  • coordinating logistics (mounting/demounting, and opening)
  • implementing a communication strategy to promote these exhibitions in collaboration with the Communication Manager.

Requirements

  • Excellent level of English (written and spoken).
  • French language is a plus as you will have working relations with French clients, suppliers and partners.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with track record in organising events.
  • Degree in relevant fields.
  • Previous experiences with arts and cultural organizations will be an advantage.
  • Deep knowledge in French culture (cinema and visual art), passionate about keeping abreast of latest market trends.
  • Able to work in a multicultural environment, multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Independent and creative.

Conditions 

  • 42h/week, flexible working hours
  • Monthly salary: S$4400 – S$4800 (according to professional experience)

L’Alliance Française de Singapour recherche régulièrement des enseignants de français langue étrangère.

Conditions :

– volume horaire variable oscillant entre 15 et 22 heures / semaine. Etre disponible impérativement le samedi matin et jusqu’à 13h30
– être capable d’animer une classe et d’enseigner à un public varié: très jeunes enfants (âgés entre 1 et 5 ans) + cours enfants (6 -9 ans), adolescents et adultes à l’AF ainsi que des cours en entreprise et des cours privés
– être titulaire d’un diplôme de FLE (minimum DAEFLE) – professeurs des écoles bienvenus
– de langue maternelle française avec une très bonne maîtrise de l’anglais
– expérience d’enseignement à l’étranger fortement souhaitée
– rémunération : variable selon le niveau d’études et l’expérience (grille d’échelons)

ONLINE COMMUNICATION
1/ Social media
• Being the voice of AF online & engage with the fans
• Manage daily the editorial content on social media platforms
• Strategize and plan content for events and school, prepare and manage monthly content calendar
• Proactively interacting with online communities across all platforms
• Monitor and analyze social performance and prepare recommendations

2/ Newsletter & emailing
• Collect content for bi-monthly newsletter, prepare newsletters on mailchimp and distribute emailings

3/ Website
• Update regularly website
• Liaise with website agency for any technical issue
• Suggest improvement in current website architecture
• Monitor and analyze key metrics

PRESS RELATIONS & EVENTS
• Provide support for ongoing PR activities
• Provide logistical support for events whenever needed

REQUIREMENTS
• Excellent level of English (written and spoken)
• Able to understand and speak French
• Previous experiences in social media and communities management
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment

CONDITIONS & COMPENSATION

2/ Contribute to strengthening the position of Alliance Française as a cornerstone centre in Singapore of cultural excellence focusing on Cinema
3/ To be proactive in proposing cultural and social events that are likely to promote French and francophone culture in Singapore

JOB DESCRIPTION
1/ Participate in organizing cultural and social events (ex: 5Th RDV with French Cinema, French Friday, Francophonie):
• developing and monitoring budgets
• coordinating logistics
• welcoming guests
• managing volunteer team
2/ Identify the films and follow up with local and French distributors for the ciné-club, ciné-kid and festival events:
•use of the Institut Francais platform
•rights negotiation,
•sending of the materials
•creating information sheets
3/ Participate in forging relationships with international, local, institutional, and private partners
4/ Participate in organizing exhibitions in the gallery (planning, mounting/demounting, And Opening)

REQUIREMENTS

Assist the installation, the Opening and dismantling of exhibition
Welcome and guide the audience during the operating hours
Write audience report
Manage the database

OTHER EVENTS
Assist the organization of social and cultural events (French Friday, exhibition Opening, Ciné-Plus, Francophonie Festival and other if needed)

EXTRA WORKING HOURS
Compensation Time-Off but no extra hours paid

ALLOWANCE
$800/month + French classes

HOURS/WEEK
Tuesday : 10.30am – 8pm
Wednesday to Friday: 10am – 7pm
Saturday: 9.30am – 5.30pm

BENEFITS
Saturday lunch is on Alliance Française’s expenses
French courses during morning working hours
