Delphine is the daughter of Limousin farmers. Carole is a Spanish teacher and a fervent feminist militant. In 1971, they meet in Paris by chance and fall under each other’s charm. Unfortunately, Delphine’s father is a victim of a stroke and she leaves Paris to help her mother run the family’s farm. Smitten by Delphine, Carole decides to join her. The two women find their lesbianism and feminist ideals confronted by the standards of their time in the countryside and the rejection of Delphine’s family and acquaintances.
