A series of photographs by Yves Gellie explores the world of scientific research laboratories dedicated to the development of humanoid platforms.

These robots question us about the fate of humankind, the way it sees itself, its consciousness, its evolution, its future and finitude.

The performance level of the machines we develop grants them ever increasing autonomy, a source of both fascination and dread. The more powerful the machines, the more negatively humans view them, says philosopher Jean-Michel Besnier.

Behind the pictures a series of videos give to the visitors the opportunity to watch and listen to a recorded intimate dialogue between the photographed person and the robot.

These videos foreshadow a future in which human beings and machines will grow closer to each other in health sectors in France and Belgium in which these robots are used (psychiatry, autism, Alzheimer’s)
