French Waves tells the story of French electronic music with the young generation point of view. With testimonies from new and old emblematic artists, this documentary highlights the American root, the illegal raves and the French Touch phenomena which has been decisive in the recognition of electronic music in the world. We also discover how the new French artists use this heritage. Julian Starke, the young director and cofounder of Pain Surprises collective, worked with around fifty key people of electronic music, from pioneers of the genre to talents. The movie is also linked to the website: https://french-waves.com/ to discover French history year by year, a webserie and a series of concerts.
