Neïla, a girl of Algerian descent, lives in the suburbs of Paris with her mother and her grandmother. Always a good pupil, she decided to become a lawyer and enrolled herself at the Assas University in Paris. But her first day proves a harrowing experience. Arriving late in the great amphitheatre, she is publicly humiliated by Pierre Mazard, a seasoned but controversial law professor, in words tainted with racism. The President of the school intervenes and asks the prof to redeem himself by being a mentor of the victim for the upcoming prestigious speech contest.

Café de France has permanently ceased its activity. Three new vending machines have been installed on the staircase landings: hot drinks (2nd floor) and cold drinks/snacks (3rd floor). A new café will open in a few months.
