1897, Paris. Edmond Rostand is a young deposed theatre writer. To recover from two years of popular failures, he convinces the famous actor Constant Coquelin to interpret the main character of his next play, without telling him he has not yet written it. Witnessing his best friend’s clumsiness in front of the one he loves, he whispers to him prose texts to declaim to her. His matchmaker position inspires him the writing of his new play: the now world-wide famous Cyrano de Bergerac.
