After a first show presented in Paris at the Galerie Cinema Anne-Dominique Toussaint in 2017, Alliance Française de Singapour is proud to present to you the first exhibition of Romain Duris’ drawings in Asia, in la galerie.
Romain Duris is one of the major figures of the contemporary French Cinema. His first role in Cédric Klapisch’s le Péril Jeune brings him immediate fame at only 20 years old. Then he worked and starred alongside the greatest names of the 7th art.
If he counts more than 40 features to his credit, Romain Duris started his career as an actor almost in spite of himself, discovered during an improvised casting in the street. He did not imagine his future in cinema but in another art and first passion of his: drawing.
Since adolescence, he expresses his fantasy made of dark humor and eroticism through different graphic medium. On free pages, notebooks or sketched diaries, his drawings are impromptu, like a natural pulsion, and reveal the intimacy of the multifaceted artist he is, endowed with an insolent spirit.
