Armand is a bookish son of Iranian immigrants. Leila is an Arab girl from a Parisian suburb. Both are in love and they intend to spend a year in New York together to work at the United Nations. But Leila’s brother, Mahmoud, comes back from Yemen as Islamic fundamentalist and locks Leila up in their suburb flat. The only way for Armand to keep seeing Leila is to conceal himself behind a full veil and pretend to be Schéhérazade, one of Leila’s friend.
